STRIPE CHAIR
The Stripe Chair is made entirely of scrap oak from furniture production, wood that has been discarded due to being too small to readily use or for being a color outside of the customer’s acceptable range. I wanted to make a fully wood chair that doesn’t work to hide these supposed flaws, but is thoughtfully pieced together to maximize the naturally contrasty tones to drench it in pattern. The chair is made using a combination of traditional woodworking techniques and machined elements.
